چکیده
Cobalt–chromium (CoCr) alloy is widely used for medical implants such as dental or joint replacements because of its strength and high corrosion resistance. By throwing a spherical media against material surface, fine-particle shot peening can modify surface properties and, result, has been low-cost simple method to increase metal’s wear However, no recent literature reported the effect particle type size on CoCr alloys. This study examined two different types (ceramic (alumina–zirconia composites) silica (SiO2)) three sizes determine their effects CoCr’s after peening. The properties, including morphology, roughness, hardness, residual stress, cytotoxicity, were tested evaluate process. larger higher hardness (ceramic) changed microstructure more than particles with smaller lower (silica). results cytotoxicity test showed that did not affect cell viability, an important fact when considering potential use implants. improve several ceramic offers best results.

Prediction of effect of fine particle removal on efficiency of a spiral circuit by size-by-size partition curves
Partition curves are widely used to determine the spiral separator efficiency. In this work, the partition curves were used in order to investigate the particle transportation to concentrate and tailing streams. Simulation of fine particle removal using the size-by-size partition curves showed that the recovery of gangue particles to concentrate can decrease 8.7%. It also showed that the recove...

متن کاملEffect of Particle Size on the Structural and Mechanical Properties of Al–AlN Nanocomposites Fabricated by Mechanical Alloying
Nanostructured Al composites with 2.5 wt.% aluminum nitride (AlN) were fabricated by powder metallurgy using mechanically milled aluminum powder mixed in a planetary ball mill with different particle sizes of AlN (50 nm and 1 μm) as reinforcement. After 20 h milling, the powders were die-pressed uniaxially in a steel die and then sintered at 670 °C for 2 h. The morphologies and properties of th...
